The Johnstone Retrievers is a family owned & operated AKC Golden Retriever Breeder in Northern Illinois. 

Sara Johnston founded the Johnstone Retrievers in 2020 along with her husband, Corey Johnston. Her lifelong passion for animals, especially dogs, has led her to wanting to breed happy & healthy Goldens meant for companionship, service & therapy work. 

The Johnstone Retrievers is not a kennel or breeding facility & will only have a few litters per year. It is a family. 

the Johnstone Retrievers believe that all animals deserve to live in a clean, loving environment with food, water and regular access to Veterinary care. Their dogs & puppies live within the family home, are well socialized & have over an acre of land to play on. 

But, most importantly, they are loved. 

We have created The Johnstone Retrievers Safe Haven to protect Golden Retrievers & their feline friends. No matter their age, health, or the reason, ANY Golden Retriever or feline may be surrendered to The Johnstone Retrievers Safe Haven. They do not want Golden Retrievers or their feline frienss in shelters using resources other animals need. Golden Retrievers & felines ALWAYS have a home with the Johnston family.
